Peshawar: The Pakistan Tehreek -e -Insaf (PTI) has once again refused to engage in political dialogue with the government, and rejected the latest invitation of the Speaker of the National Assembly.
Talking to a private TV channel program, opposition leader Amir Ayub Khan in the National Assembly announced that “the talks are now closed.” He emphasized that political talks are not merely based on wishes, but their promises are needed, which according to them, the government failed to demonstrate.
Amir Ayub criticized the government’s point of view, saying that when the PTI spoke in good faith, the ruling authorities did not show goodwill nor sick intentions – which caused interruption. Are.
“We started the talks seriously, but the government did not accept our demands,” he said. Since they were not willing to move forward with sincerity, we do not see any benefit to continuing the dialogue.
The opposition leader made it clear that the PTI will no longer talk to the government. He firmly said, “We will no longer talk.”
On February 7, the federal government extended another offer for dialogue to the PTI, emphasizing that the doors of the negotiations were never closed. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq confirmed that the government’s negotiation committee was intact and was not dissolved.
Talking to the media, Es Sadiq said that despite political differences, PTI members are still in touch with the government. He also highlighted that the steps for negotiations should come within the PTI itself.
“If approval comes from inside the PTI, they will go to us,” he said. Referring to PTI founder Imran Khan, Sadiq admitted that he was a tough negotiator, but confirmed that communication channels were open.
