Peshawar: On Saturday, representatives of Shiite and Sunni tribes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) resistance district assured their support for the government’s efforts to restore peace in the region.
In a statement issued by the Department of Information, a separate meeting of a delegation of Shia and Sunni tribes from KP government spokesman Mohammad Ali Saif in his office in Peshawar.
According to the Department of Information, the representatives made detailed ideas with Saif, which is also part of the provincial institutions along with the resolution of the issue, on the law and order situation in the law.
About 600,000, a tribal district, where Pakistani federal and provincial authorities have traditionally gained limited control, has often witnessed violence between their Sunni and Shiite communities on land and power. Passengers traveling to the area often board convoy by security officials.
The latest dispute began on November 21 when the gunmen ambushed a convoy and killed 52 people, mostly Shiites. The KP Information Department said in a statement after the meetings, “Both delegations informed Barrister Dr. Saif about his own concerns and requested strict action against the miscreants.”
“The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to ensure the full implementation of the peace deal and assured full cooperation with the security forces and the government to establish peace.”
48 miscreants arrested in Karam: IGP told
On the other hand, during an operation launched to ensure sustainable peace in the region, 48 miscreants were arrested in the tribal district.
This was stated during a meeting of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahb Ali Shah and Police Inspector General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed where he chaired a high -level meeting to assess the overall security situation in Kurram.
The meeting estimated the latest progress of law and order, recent events and measures to deal with them, said a government Communican issued here at the meeting. During the meeting, it was decided that operations against terrorist elements involved in the recent incidents would be further intensified.
Along with the protection of the lives and property of the citizens, their efforts to improve their standard of living will be a top priority, and peace will be restored in every case. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government reiterated that there is no room for miscreants or their facilitators, and that all those involved will be held accountable under the law.
