Islamabad: The Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Acal Malik has said that the US administration has not banned Pakistani nationals going to the United States, but some travel restrictions can be introduced.

His remarks came to light in the midst of reports that US President Donald Trump’s administration is considering a new travel ban, which could include Pakistan and Afghanistan based on official review of security and scrutiny.

These new sanctions are similar to those allegedly imposed during Trump’s first term, when several majority Muslim countries were banned.

Addressing a TV channel program, the Minister noted that when the United States has expressed concern over the increase in terrorist incidents in Pakistan, it has not imposed a clear travel ban on Pakistanis.

He reaffirmed the UN commitment to strengthen counter -terrorism efforts in response to concerns raised by the United States at a recent travel advisory released on Saturday, urging US citizens to re -consider traveling in the country because of security threats.

The US State Department level 3 travel advisory, which has been released by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, warns that Pakistan’s security situation is unexpected, which has the potential to attack citizens and government targets. It has warned that terrorist incidents can occur with little or no warning, which affects transport centers, markets, military installations and public places.

This consultation is after the release of global terrorism index 2025, which in 2024 declared Pakistan the world’s second largest terrorist country.

The country saw a 45 % increase in terrorism deaths, of which the deaths increased from 748 to 2024 in 2023. For the first time since the launch of the index, the number of terrorist attacks doubled.

The country emphasized the importance of expanding and improving counter -terrorism cooperation, acknowledging that Pakistan should work to improve its security framework in partnership with international partners.

He highlighted that weapons and ammunition have been left behind after the withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan, now they have been used against Pakistan, which promotes cross -border terrorism.

He warned that the growing wave of militancy is not just a threat to Pakistan but can destabilize the entire region and also affect US interests.

He said that Pakistan’s counter -terrorism efforts have been acknowledged by President Trump and the US military command, which includes Senate Kam, which has acknowledged the country’s actions.

Referring to the detention of Daus Commander Mohammad Sharif Elias alias Jafar, who accused US troops of 2021 attacks at Kabul Airport, he emphasized that Pakistani intelligence agencies have implemented reliable intelligence on credible intelligence, which they have influenced by the influence.

The Minister also rejected the long -standing allegations of neighboring countries, accusing Pakistan of supporting terrorism, saying that Pakistan itself was victims of militant violence.

He pointed out that the country has been victims of terrorism for years and has been victims of extremist attacks.
