Islamabad: The government has suggested that Oman use his strategic ports in Gwadar and Karachi to make easy access to Central Asian markets as part of efforts to deepen economic relations between the two countries.
According to an official statement from the Pakistan Ministry of Commerce, the offer was made earlier this week during a meeting between Trade Minister Jamal Kamal and Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Al -Yusuf in Muscat.
The two sides had detailed talks on enhancing bilateral trade and investment, which focuses on improving special transport networks and using Pakistan as an important trading transit in Central Asia.
During the talks, the delegation of Pakistan emphasized the ability to serve as major regional trade centers of Gwadar and Karachi ports. Officials highlighted these benefits by using these ports to Oman for better contact with emerging markets in Central Asia.
These discussions also detected cooperation routes in various fields, including textile, small and medium -sized businesses (SMEs), agriculture, food safety and manufacturing. The two sides emphasized the importance of promoting industrial cooperation, promoting joint ventures, and strengthening supply chains.
Pakistan invited Omani’s investors to find opportunities in their industrial and manufacturing sectors, and made themselves partners in Oman’s economic diversity projects.
Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal noted that Pakistan’s expertise in industry and commerce can help Oman achieve its vision 2040 development goals. He reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to enhance trade and economic cooperation with Muscat.
In response, Qais -ul -Yusuf recognized Pakistan’s strategic importance as a regional trade route, especially in view of the proximity and historical relations with Oman. He expressed his keen interest in enhancing economic relations and increasing trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.
The two ministers agreed to work closely on economic measures and confirmed their commitment to promote trade and investment cooperation.
The meeting concluded with a joint understanding to find new areas of mutual benefit and promote long -term economic growth for both countries.
