Lahore: Historical Old Lahore is very beautiful and it is necessary to restore it in its greatness and glory.

Along with Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz was also chairing a special meeting on the restoration and protection of Lahore’s heritage.

The president of the PML -N stressed that “worsening the original and ancient state of the cities is not a proper behavior.”

He said that the destruction of the national heritage is equivalent to backwardness. He added, “People all over Pakistan will be happy to see the ancient and historical status of Lahore after its recovery is completed.”

“Before the establishment of Pakistan, Lahore was considered to be the cultural center of the Indian region,” said the acting chief of Lahar’s steering committee. He regretted that no one likes to go to historical markets because of the encroachment. “We are working on the restoration of ancient Lahore, this city will look good in a few years,” he added. He sought a comprehensive plan to restore Lahore’s heritage, and directed the concerned authorities to provide alternative places for the business and pay compensation to the victims of the encroachment.

Addressing the meeting, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz also agreed to identify and remove the encroachments from the historical sites of Lahore. He warned that “we will not allow cities to be damaged by encroachment,” he warned, adding that the historic buildings of the rehabilitation were not enough, but it was also necessary to maintain them.

He expressed his commitment, “The historic gates of Lahore will be restored to their ancient form”.

He was briefed by the concerned authorities that at least 115 buildings in Lahore are considered a historic heritage. He was informed that 48 of the 75 -year -old colonial buildings were under work. “Sadat Monato, Shorash Kashmiri and other literary figures will be planted on Mall Road.”

The CM of Punjab was briefed that Lahore has been divided into six zones for the restoration of its heritage areas. He agreed to a proposal to start work simultaneously to restore all zones and heritage areas. He was also told that it is in full swing to transfer electric wires underground for the beauty of the mall road.

The Chief Minister further informed, “Five places have been identified in the city for underground parking.” It reviewed suggestions and recommendations for restoring the original appearance of the Blue Dome, Circular Road, Gardens and other places to its original condition.

Maryam Nawaz expressed her anger at the circular road and surrounding the historic gates. He instructed the concerned authorities to remove the barriers to clear the landscape of the Bhatti and other historic gates. In addition to considering the proposal to build a pedestrian walkway to Shah Alam’s gate, he agreed to the proposal to restore the Shahi Fort, Jahangir and Noor Jahan, Shalmar Bagh, Kamran and other places.
