ISLAMABAD: Authorities have suspended mobile data in Islamabad as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters reached D Chowk, causing difficulties for residents and businesses to access online services.
Internet disruptions were also reported in several cities across Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Multan, Rajanpur, Gujarat and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Additionally, all users reported outages on social media platforms including WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook. Reports from consumers across the country describe widespread accessibility issues, with many struggling to use social media and communication platforms.
Internet service monitoring website Downdetector has confirmed that users in Pakistan are experiencing problems accessing these platforms along with general internet slowdowns.
The website’s chart also shows that users reported disruptions to access TikTok on Tuesday, with reports increasing around 4:00 p.m.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) convoy led by Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and other leaders reached D Chowk located in the high security red zone.
