Farmers to get fertilizers at cheap rate

LAHORE: According to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, there is abundant supply of fertilizers in Rabi season, for the first time their prices have decreased.

The chief minister, who presided over the agriculture meeting, said that Punjab has 30 percent more DAP fertilizer and its price has come down by 17 percent in the wheat season.

According to Chief Minister Punjab, there is a 25% reduction in the stock price of urea fertilizer which is 125% more than the requirement. More than 82% of the sowing target has been achieved and 16.5 million acres of wheat has been cultivated across Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz said that till December 10, the cultivation target will be achieved across the province.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the concerned authorities to improve the wheat storage capacity across the province.

Meanwhile, Punjab Agriculture and Livestock Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani was told in a meeting that wheat cultivation has been completed on an area of ​​12 million acres across Punjab.

According to officials, all available resources are being mobilized to reach the cultivation target. He claimed that farmers have controlled access to fertilizer.

Farmers cultivating wheat in large area under Chief Minister’s Guru Mor Wheat Package have been asked to apply online by December 15.

According to officials, strict monitoring is being done to guarantee that high quality fertilizers and wheat seeds are available in the market.

The Minister was informed that out of 1.32 million applications for Chief Minister Kisan Card, 500,000 farmers’ applications have been verified. 92% of the 24 billion rupees worth of agricultural products purchased across the province through the card is fertilizer.
