Waseem Abbas on PTV rejecting and mocking Nazar
Wasim Abbas is a veteran Pakistani TV, film and stage actor who has been working in the media industry for over four decades. The notable actor has been a part of several hit Pakistani dramas. Some of his most hit projects include Raza Raza, Family Front, Sanata, Din, Hissar, Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Meera Humsafar, Ashiana, Linda Bazar, Prem Gali and others. He is an intelligent person who often likes to give his opinion on various controversies and current affairs.
Recently Waseem Abbas appeared in Hina Niazi’s show Suno To Sahi. On the show, he talked about facing multiple rejections during his early days in showbiz. He added that he was made fun of because of his looks.
Talking about this, Waseem Abbas said that I have seen many reactions. At first, I was badly rejected by radio. I was rejected by PTV quite rudely. Yawar Hayat rejected me and said he could never be an actor. He doesn’t have the right face, he can’t look good on screen, and he doesn’t have a good voice. He pushed me to pursue directing and producing. I was very depressed because I was young; I used to look in the mirror and get upset. Irfan Khost rejected me on the radio. They said Wasim is the worst. He cannot be corrected even by hard work.
He further said that I joined the stage where Irfan Khost appointed me as an assistant. Anwar Ali, who played the hero, replaced me for one of his main roles. This was my first break. He added that rejection should be tolerated in life because there is nothing you can do about it. Here is the link to the video:
