Renowned Indian guitarist and bassist Chandramouli Biswas was found dead at his home.
According to Indian media, the body of 48-year-old Chandramouli was found in a rented house in Valentine area of Kolkata on Sunday evening.
When Mahul Chakraborty, the lead singer of the band ‘Gulok’, reached Chandramouli’s house, he saw his dead body and reported it to the police.
Mahul said that he had been calling Chandramouli since morning but he was not picking up his phone calls, due to which he got worried and along with his close friend reached his house where they found him dead.
According to Mahul, Chandramouli’s death is a big loss for the Bengali music industry.
According to the police, preliminary investigations have revealed that Chandramouli was facing financial problems and was suffering from depression for several years. His relatives and friends also confirmed his mental state.
The suicide note found at the scene said that no one was responsible for his death. The note is being verified and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Chandramouli was associated with popular bands ‘Fossils’, ‘Golak’ and ‘Zombie Cage Control’ and was very popular for his brilliant performances.
The death of the Indian singer has left the industry in mourning and the Indian music industry has described Chandramouli’s death as an incredible shock.
Fossils manager Rupsha Dasgupta said Chandramouli was a member of the band from 2000 to 2018 and later left due to health issues.
