Lahore: Aamir Mazari of Aitchison College won the Boys U-18 Pre-Quarterfinal of the Millat Tractors Junior National Tennis Championship 2025 at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh Jinnah, Lahore.
Mazari’s match against Umar Jawad captivated the crowd, ending in a hard-fought 6-3, 3-6, 7-6. In an intense contest that saw both players pushing each other to the brink, Mazari showed nerves of steel to see off Jawad in the decisive third-set tiebreaker. It was undoubtedly the match of the day, showcasing the emerging talent in Pakistan’s junior tennis circuit.
Other Boys U-18 pre-quarter finals also saw impressive performances. Nabil Qayyum beat Dawood Khan 6-1, 6-1 while Haider Ali Rizwan defeated Ryan Khan Khalil 6-0, 6-3. Abdul Rahman Rana defeated Abdullah Pirzada 7-5, 6-3 and M Salar defeated Ali Hussain 6-0, 6-0. Meanwhile, WAPDA’s Abu Bakr Talha beat Hamza Ali Rizwan 7-6, 6-2, M Yahya beat M Umar Ali 6-2, 6-2 and Hasnain Ali Rizwan beat Muhammad Junaid Khan 6-3, 6-3. defeated by
In the boys U14 pre-quarter final, Abdul Rahman Rana defeated M Ayan 4-0, 4-0. Zohaib Amjad defeated M Ibrahim Hussain Gul 5-4, 1-4, 5-4, while M Ryan Khan Khalil defeated M Hamza Khan 4-0, 4-0. M Moaz booked his place in the next round with a 4-1, 4-2 victory over Ahmed Hussain.
In the boys’ under-12 category, Mustafa Zia defeated Muzamil Khan 4-0, 4-0 and Ishtar Alam Khan defeated Hadi Ali Rizwan 4-0, 4-1. In the boys/girls under-10 pre-quarterfinals, M Ehsan Bari defeated Aran Bashir 6-1, Ishtar Alam Khan defeated Ayman Shehbaz 6-1 and Hadi Ali Rizwan defeated Rania Abbas 6-0.
