Lahore: According to a police spokesperson, the Punjab Police has started preparations to make fool-proof security arrangements for the Champions Trophy 2025, which will begin in Pakistan on February 22, 2025.
According to the police spokesperson, 12 thousand 564 officers and personnel will be deployed for the Champions Trophy matches in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
7618 police personnel including officers and personnel will be deployed for matches in Lahore, 4535 police personnel will perform duty for matches in Rawalpindi while 411 special branch officers and personnel will be deployed during the events in Lahore and Rawalpindi. will
Aerial surveillance of the Champions Trophy matches will also be conducted and the help of the Army and Rangers will also be taken.
All the players will be given security like official guests and the security plan will be finalized soon. All routes will be monitored by Safe City cameras. Players’ residences and routes will also be monitored with cameras. Police officials say that the first match will be played in Lahore on February 22, while the first match will be played in Rawalpindi on February 25.
Important meeting chaired by IGP

28th Anniversary of Session Court Lahore Bomb Blast
Meanwhile, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the Sessions Court Lahore incident, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid great tribute to the police martyrs and said that we salute these great sons who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Offered. The IGP further said that the memory of the martyrs of the Sessions Court tragedy will always remain fresh in the hearts of the nation. He further said that Punjab Police is a force which has more than 1650 martyrs and the sacrifices of these police martyrs will never be forgotten. Dr Usman Anwar also said that the welfare of the families of police martyrs is the first priority.
On this day in 1997, 14 Punjab police officers and jawans laid down their lives in the Sessions Court, including two sub-inspectors, an ASI and 11 constables.
