An Iranian court has sentenced famous pop singer Amir Hossein Maqsood Lo to death for blasphemy.
According to Iranian media, the 37-year-old underground singer Amir Hossein, known as Tatalo, had been living in Istanbul since 2018, but in December 2023, the Turkish police handed him over to Iran, and he has been in prison since then.
Amir Hussain Maqsood Low, who has previously been sentenced to 10 years in prison for “promoting prostitution, producing obscene material, and propagating against the country.”
Earlier, the singer was sentenced to 5 years in prison for blasphemy, but the case was reopened and this time blasphemy was also proved.
The court accepted the prosecutor’s objection and sentenced the 37-year-old singer to death for insulting the Prophet of Islam.
