Khartoum: Authorities have confirmed that an aircraft crash in the northern Sudan region has killed at least 20 people.

The accident took place near the oil fields at the Unity State near 10:30 pm on Wednesday (08:30 GMT), shortly after the plane left for Juba.

The aircraft, which was carrying 21 people, crashed just 500 meters from the airport. Both the Bupils in the Gate Minister of the Alliance of the Alliance, Gate, told AFP that only one person had survived the incident.

The victims included 16 South Sudanese citizens, two Chinese citizens, and all employees of an Indian, Greater Panier Operating Company (GPOC).

The plane was reportedly on the usual mission of the area at the time of the crash. UN Radio Maria confirmed that the dead included both the pilot and the pilot.

In a joint photo on social media, the plane shows upside down in a field, which has been scattered in the surrounding area.

The high burden of aircraft in South Sudan has been a common problem, which is believed to have participated in the previous fatal crash in Juba in 2015, when Antonov’s plane went down, killing 36 people.
