Syed Asim Munir, the mother of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), passed away, and he condoled with political and religious figures in Pakistan.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed their deep sorrow and sent a heartfelt prayer for the departure soul and offered help to the bereaved family. Zardari jointly said in the grief of General Munir, saying that he stands with the family during this traumatic time.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed his sympathy with the Prime Minister’s Advisor on political issues, praying for the height of the victim and the power for the family. In addition, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also expressed deep grief and assured the family of their support.
In his condolences, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Fazl (Joy F), emphasized the importance of the death of a mother and prayed for the deceased’s pardon. Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani offered prayers for peace and patience for the bereaved family, expressing condolences.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, leader of the Muttahida National Movement Pakistan (MQMP), called on his party members to offer special prayers for General Munir’s mother’s pardon. Other notable personalities, including Sindh Governor Kamran Tessuri, Senator Saleem Mandviwala, and several federal ministers also increased their heartfelt sympathies. Religious leader Allama Kukab Noorani joined prayers for the dead body.
