Asad Qaiser rejected PTI nomination as chairman.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser has denied PTI founder Imran Khan’s nomination of him as party chairman.
He also clarified that no decision has been taken on the post of Secretary General. He said that a decision will be taken after consulting the party founder in Adiala Jail.
Earlier, there were reports that PTI founder Imran Khan had removed party chairman Gauhar Khan and secretary general Salman Akram Raja from their posts after rioting during a PTI protest in Islamabad.
Salman Akram Raja resigned from the post of party secretary general.
Raja tendered his resignation to the party leadership. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar confirmed Salman Akram Raja’s resignation.
PTI founder Imran Khan appointed senior lawyer Salman Akram Raja as party secretary general in September.
Raja has come under heavy criticism for not playing an active role in the recent PTI protests.
