Tokyo: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Saturday expressed China’s hope for the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations between China and Japan during a conversation with Japan’s chief cabinet secretary Haiashi Yoshimasa on Saturday.
Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of the Central Committee of China, also highlighted the importance of following the principles and instructions set in four political documents to promote China Japan relations. He said these documents provide a political and legal framework for bilateral relations, and set clear guidelines for dealing with sensitive issues such as history and Taiwan’s question.
He called on Japan to adopt a correct understanding of China and maintain promises on critical issues so that China’s Japan relations could move on the right path.
In response, Hiashi confirmed Japan’s irrevocable commitment to Japan’s stance in China’s joint communication in 1972, and expressed his willingness to strengthen the exchange and cooperation in various fields with China.
The Chief Secretary also expressed hope that Japan China, which comes after a six -year break, will produce results from high -level economic dialogue, which will help the constant development of bilateral relations and benefit the people of both countries.
