Islamabad: On Friday, a high -level Hadle, chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, decided to comprehensively fight extremist stories and promote an active and effective response against terrorism and extremism.

Civil and military leadership, along with representatives from all four provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit -Baltistan, attended the meeting at the Prime Minister’s house on Friday.

Officials vowed to expose criminals of the Jaffar Express attack and aggressively counter anti -state campaigns on traditional and digital media.

It was agreed that the National Action Plan (APP) would be used to strengthen the national statement, in which authorities would be instructed to prepare an active and effective response against terrorism and extremism.

The Hadle also decided to stop any material that threatened national security and harmony while ensuring better harmony between the provinces.

To include young people, films and dramas will add national topics to effectively counter extremist propaganda.

In addition, digital media will be used to spread pro -state pro -content and deal with misinformation, including depp -faked material with certified information.

The government will also integrate the awareness of terrorism into the national curriculum to inform future generations of their dangers.

The government’s move comes against the backdrop of the growing terrorist attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially those who target security agencies and other law enforcement agencies.

According to a report by the World Terrorism Index 2025, the recent increase in violence in the country has described it as another terrorist -hit country in 2024.

Pakistan-Pakistan, which has been ranked second to second position-has witnessed a 45 % increase in terrorism deaths and increased from 748 to 2024 in 2023.

Earlier this month, dozens of militants belonging to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) attacked and hijacked Jafar Express, connected with 440 passengers hostage.

After a complex clearance operation, security forces neutralized 33 attackers and rescued the hostages.

In addition to five operational casualties, more than 26 passengers were martyred by the terrorists, of which 18 were security personnel belonging to the Pakistan Army and the Frontier Corps (FC), three were officials of Pakistan Railways and other departments, and five were civilians.
