Pakistani screenwriter Khalilur Rahman Qamar, known for his services in the drama industry with hits like Mere Paas Tum Ho, Pyare Afzal, and Mohabbate Tum Se Nefert Hai, is once again in the limelight.
His latest drama, Sun Mere Dil, starring Wahaj Ali, has captivated the audience, garnering an impressive 550 million views on YouTube.
Despite its success, the show faced strong criticism from notable personalities like Marina Khan and Nadia Khan.
Responding to the backlash, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar addressed concerns about the pace of the drama.
He explained, “The credibility of the critics is very important to consider. That said, we made a mistake by extending the series from 26 to 35 episodes, which slowed down the storytelling and affected the narrative.
Regarding a controversial dialogue in the play, Qamar justified its context. “2 Takke’s line reflects the laziness of Amar’s character. Similarly, Sadaf calls him a dog in response. These are emotional clashes between the characters and nothing more.
When Marina Khan and Nadia Khan were asked about the criticism, they refrained from talking.
“I haven’t worked with him, and he seems to have some resentment. Actors who have collaborated with me have never spoken against me, so I would prefer not to discuss them.
Addressing Nadia Afghan’s comments, Qamar flatly rejected them.
“I do not know him personally. To claim something against me without any affiliation is like a stranger alleging that I have divorced him. I have never communicated with him nor Heard more about it.
Despite the drama’s polarizing reception, Qamar remains steadfast, shrugging off controversies and focusing on his work.
