David Warner appointed Karachi Kings captain for PSL 10

David Warner has been nominated captain of Karachi Kings for the next 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The World Cup winner in both ODIs and T20 formats, Warner, is one of the most strongest T20 openers in the game. Throughout his career, he has also guided a number of major franchises, including the Big Bash League (BBL). Commenting on Karachi Kings’ social media, Warner expressed his excitement about the new role: “Looking forward to seeing everyone.”

The Australian star was selected the first selection of the Karachi Kings in the PSL 10 Players Draft held on January 13, 2025 in the historic Hazori Bagh, Lahore.

Karachi Kings Management also thanked last season’s captain Sean Masood for his leadership, which helped maintain the balance between experienced and young players. Masood’s efforts in PSL9 praised his planning intelligence and professionalism.

Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal welcomed Warner as the new captain and said, “We warmly welcome David Warner to the Karachi Kings’ family. His leadership and match -winning performances are completely straightforward with our team’s vision.” He also acknowledged Masood’s contribution, noteing that his captain had established a strong foundation for the team.

The most expected PSL will begin on Friday, April 11, 2025, with defending champions Islamabad United, with two -time winner Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Karachi Kings will play their opening match the next day, April 12, against Multan Sultan at the National Bank Stadium, the next day.
