Starling currently operates in 40 countries and plans to expand its services to include mobile phone connectivity in the coming years.
The service is launched in Washington, where SpaceX’s headquarters are still located. Starlink is available in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, as well as several European countries such as France, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
The service is also many in Australia and New Zealand. Over the years, Starlink has expanded to additional countries, including the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Denmark, Switzerland, Portugal, Italy, Sydney, all of the Baltic states, and several countries in South America.
Starlink gained significant attention when Ukraine requested Elon Musk to activate the services after a Russian attack disrupted essential systems, including the traditional internet.
Musk immediately activated Starlink in Ukraine and allocated satellites to provide reliable internet for citizens and the military.
Despite concerns about SpaceX’s ability to maintain services, public support and resource allocation kept it operational, ensuring that Ukrainians remained connected.
It is worth noting that Starlink is not yet available in some major Asian countries including India, China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.
