Firdous Ashiq Awan resigned from the post of IPP spokesperson.
Sialkot: Senior politician and leader of Isthakam Pakistan Party (IPP) Firdous Ashiq Awan has resigned from the post of Central Information Secretary of Isthakam Pakistan Party.
In a resignation letter written to party president Abdul Aleem Khan, the former federal minister said that she could not continue as party spokesperson due to personal commitments and health issues.
“It is reported that I am unable to continue my duties and services as Central Information Secretary of IPP due to my commitments and health problems. Therefore, I am resigning from the post as a party official, ‘ wrote the letter.
However, Awan reiterated his support for the party as a member. However, I will continue to support the party in the best public and national interest.
Firdous Ashiq Awan, who hails from Sialkot, joined the Isthakim Pakistan Party ahead of the February 8 general elections after parting ways with the former ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
She was Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting from 2019 to 2020 during Imran Khan’s regime.
Awan also served as Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Information and Culture from November 2020 to August 2021 during the PTI government.
