Malakand: On Saturday, Pakistan Tehreek Justice (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar announced that there would be no talks with state institutions in the next long march of the party.
“Unlike past protests, the PTI leadership will not engage in the dialogue if the protests are held,” he said.
Addressing a program in Malakand, Akbar warned that if he was arrested, key routes including Silk Road, Pak-Afghan Highway, Motorway, and GT Road would be completely blocked.
He added that he has advised PTI founder Imran Khan to be a provincial president, who has good relations with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandpur.
Akbar vowed to buy party positions and eliminate influence through money.
He emphasized that he had not received any direct instructions from Imran Khan about the PTI’s organizational structure but he would continue to work with the current setup.
The PTI leader also criticized the people who ‘invest in political meetings’, claiming that they later ‘exploit the system for financial benefits’.
He warned that after the May 9 protest, those responsible for suppressing PTI workers would have to face the consequences if their party returns to power.
Akbar specifically targeted Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and promised revenge.
He confirmed the strong view of the party’s future confrontation, saying, “If Shahbaz Sharif’s children do not suffer under our government, I will leave PTI.”
