PESHAWAR: Pakistan has reported two new incidents of Mankipox (MPOX) in 2025, in which both patients belong to Peshawar. The latest cases have raised concerns about the spread of the virus, though health officials assure that necessary precautions are being taken.
According to the Health Department, one of the patients is a 20 -year -old local resident, while the other is 42 -year -old who went to Saudi Arabia earlier. Authorities have classified a small patient’s case as a local transmission, while the elderly patient’s infection is linked to the recent travel date.
Both men sought treatment at Khyber Teaching Hospital, where doctors tested their Monkapox on the basis of clinical doubts. After the virus was confirmed, health officials instructed them to be isolated at home. Officials have confirmed that so far their family has not seen any sign of the disease.
Health Minister Advisor, Utthers Ali, said the situation was being closely monitored and separating patients at home was a precautionary measure to prevent any possible transmission.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health has continued to alert the public and reported any suspected cases to prevent further spread of the virus.
