New York: Human Rights Watch (HRW) has expressed its “regrets” that officials from EU countries, such as France, Poland, Germany, Italy and Romania, have been arrested by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been arrested by the International Criminal Court.
The statement said, “The European Union leadership and other EU member states, as well as other international criminal committee member states, should call on all Hungarian and ICC member states to arrest Netanyahu and cooperate with the ICC if they visit the ICC.”
The group said that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and his government are demonstrating “clear neglect” for the rule of law and human rights.
“Allowing Netanyahu’s visit to Netanyahu in violation of Hungary’s ICC responsibilities will be a fresh attack on the rule of law,” said Liz Esenon, HRW’s International Justice Director.
The European Green Party has demanded the arrest of Netanyahu in Hungary
According to Al Jazeera reports, the European Green Party is demanding Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu arriving in Hungary to be arrested in the Hague and facing a trial.
“The European Union and the national governments have a duty to maintain international law and ensure accountability for war crimes and human rights abuses.”
The European Green Party co -chair Vola Sisi added: “Orban is bulldozer on EU contracts and responsibilities … That’s why we, as European Green, have been demanding the elimination of national veto on foreign policy issues.
“Ignoring the ICC arrest warrant against Netanyahu means ignoring the reasons for which it was issued, which is unacceptable.”
ICC condemns Hungary for neglecting Netanyahu arrest warrants
According to Al Jazeera reports, the International Crime Court (ICC) has criticized Hungary’s decision to refuse Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s arrest warrant for holding an Israeli military campaign in Gaza.
Court spokesman Fidi al -Abdullah said that the ICC parties are not “unilaterally determining the authenticity of the court’s legal decisions”.
Al -Abdullah added, “The co -state states have the responsibility to enforce the decisions of the court.” Any dispute regarding the court’s court works will be decided by the court’s decision. “
Human Rights Watch urges Hungary to arrest Netanyahu if he enters the country
According to the Anidolo Agency, Human Rights Watch (HRW) has called on Hungary to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he steps into the country.
“Hungary should refuse to enter Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, or he should be arrested if he enters the country,” said a New York -based rights group.
“As a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Hungary is obliged to assist in the arrest and surrender of any suspects entering its area, HRW said. Without its own police force, ICC relies on states to help arrest.”
“The invitation of Netanyahu for Netanyahu is a competition for those victims of serious crimes,” said Les Evanson, the International Justice Director of HRW.
“Hungary should comply with his legal responsibilities as a party to the ICC and if he steps into the country, Netanyahu should be arrested.
