TEHRAN: Authorities in Iran have ordered schools and offices in at least 10 provinces to be close to energy protection during severe cold and severe snowfall.
The temperature has engulfed the northern half of the country in the past few days, which has increased energy consumption.
The state news agency IRNA announced that “all government offices and schools are closed on Sunday, and remote education has been arranged for the students.”
The affected provinces include Lorestan in the West, Semon in the East and Gallon in the north.
Meteorologist Mohammad Dadra told the Persian news agency that about 130 130 km (80 miles) north of Tehran, some parts of the gallon fall into the depth of 220 cm (87 inches).
The shutdown decision also took a similar action on Saturday, when authorities ordered the closure of more than 31 provinces in the country due to extreme weather.
The capital also saw the closure on Saturday, but the victims reopened on Sunday – a working day – despite the conditions of the ventry.
The IRNA said on Sunday that in some areas of Tehran, 30 cm (12 inches) snow fell overnight.
This snowfall disrupted traffic, and some residents cleaned the snow when others enjoyed snowball battles in city parks.
The snow is not uncommon for Tehran in February, but the combination of heavy snow and sudden temperature drops has removed many people from the guard.
On Sunday, most of the country’s country also resulted in the closure of the road as a result of heavy snow and rains.
The IRNA reported the travel barriers in 25 provinces, with the heaviest effects in the north and west, where authorities advised people to stay home for the next 24 hours.
The IRNA said that the temperature in at least 19 provinces on Sunday dropped zero degrees Celsius or less.
Iran often orders the closure of educational institutions and offices during the winter during the winter, citing extreme weather and fuel shortage.
