Former England all -rounder Ravi Bopara has been named head coach Injured Karachi Kings for the next 10th Pakistan Super League (PSL) season. On Friday, the franchise announced the news on Instagram.
Bopra’s appointment came when Phil Simonis resigned only after a season as a manager, citing new responsibilities with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), which extended his deal for two years.
Mohammad Masrur has been promoted as Assistant Coach, while Bopara, who was an assistant coach last season, has now been taken to the highest position.
Kings have significantly changed their management structure after losing in the round stages in the last three season. Because of this, there is a run of under -wilming performances.
In another shake -up earlier this week, the Karachi franchise selected veteran Australian opener David Warner as his new team captain.
Warner, one of the most productive opener in T20, has an abundance of leadership experience, which has captained many Elite T20 teams, including the Big Bash League.
Warner was selected Karachi’s first selection in the Platinum category during the PSL -10 Players Draft, which took place on January 13, 2025 in Hazori Bagh in Lahore. The PSL will begin on Friday, April 11, 2025, with defending champions Islamabad United, with a two -time champion Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
