Talking about taking Sami Khan’s place, Khalilur Rehman Qamar said that no, I did not take his place because of personal grudge. Sami made a mistake, although he has apologized to me for his mistake, it was still a sin on his part. I am telling you this story; Otherwise, I had no intention of sharing it. I was casting for my drama serial Mohabbate, Zindagi and Lahore. I finalized Muammar Rana, but the producers didn’t want him. They suggested the name of Sami, who came to me for the audition, but I didn’t choose him because it was a drama about the walled city of Lahore, where the language is difficult. I knew he couldn’t do better. Sami came and sat at my feet and said, ‘Sir, cast me. This will help me progress in my career.’ I immediately decided to cast him.
Khalilur Rahman Qamar added that after 100 episodes, the production called me and said that now things are out of hand because Sami Khan is demanding many things. We also get to know that he had a deal with Babar Javed where he was to do his plays. He demanded a ticket. He then asked for tickets for his family. After that the producers informed me. Sami Khan also wrote a text to the producers in which he clearly asked them to fulfill his demands or replace him. I was shocked; I don’t appreciate people who cheat me. He didn’t even receive my calls. He didn’t answer me properly. This elderly Rana was very kind who accepted my request and worked beautifully. I’m grateful for that.”
