KP Forest Department launched a drive for 384,000 plants in Malakand Division

Swat: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Forests has reaffirmed its commitment to plant 384,000 different types of plants in all nine districts of Malakand Division during this year’s planting campaign.

The opening ceremony of the planting campaign was held at the Commissioner’s office in Tasso Sharif in Swat District.

Commissioner Malakand Division Abid Wazir, with regional police officer Malakand Region Sher Akbar Khan, formally inaugurated a spring garden campaign by planting devods on the lawn of the office.

Forest Chief Conservator Malakand Asghar Khan, divisional forest officers, administrative and other forest department officials were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Malakand Division Abid Wazir said that more and more trees need to be planted to overcome climate change and change in the region so that the future can be secured.

He appealed to the government and the semi -government institutions, students and civil society to contribute to this tree’s drive.

He also directed to launch a tree planting campaign and ensure planting in Tehsil level offices, police stations, schools, hospitals and other government buildings.

Forest officials said that during this year’s garden campaign, about 38 384,000 different trees of trees will be planted in all nine districts of the Malakand division, including Swat.

“To make this campaign a success, the forest department will supply free plants to government agencies and civil society,” he said.

He also appealed to the people to plant at least one plant to fulfill the dream of green Pakistan.
