KP government plans to solarize 195 healthcare units.
PESHAWAR: In a recent development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced its plan to solarize 195 health centers in four districts of the province.
The KP Human Capital Investment Program (KP-HCIP) of the Provincial Health Department will be responsible for the success of the solarisation programme.
According to KP Health Department, this project will be started in Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi and Haripur.
According to sources, the project will be financed through grant funding and loan financing. The total budget allocation for this project is expected to be a little over Rs 23 billion.
The initiative aims to solarize 151 Basic Health Units (BHUs), 25 Rural Health Centres, 13 Category D Hospitals, and six Category C Hospitals.
Project Director Dr. Ikramullah shared and discussed the idea with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor on Health Ehtisham Ali during a briefing.
Additionally, the consultants issued instructions on how the program could be carried out effectively.
During the briefing, Dr. Ikramullah also revealed that the program would be extended to 16 districts later, giving priority to flood-affected health facilities.
