Lahore metro bus service suspended due to PTI’s ongoing protest
LAHORE: Metro bus services in the provincial capital have been suspended amid political tension surrounding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests, leaving hundreds of commuters in Pakistan’s second-largest city facing dire conditions.
The Metrobus route was partially suspended over the weekend due to a police crackdown on protesters, but the entire service has been suspended today. Public transport has been badly affected as all metro bus stops have been closed.
However, passengers are being served as normal by the Orange Line train service, which is still fully operational. Along with suspension of metro bus, mobile service and Wi-Fi signals have been partially suspended in some areas of Lahore.
Many users have complained that their mobile phone signals are interrupted, making it difficult to communicate. Mobile disruptions have also affected the overall functionality of WhatsApp and other apps.
