Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz says that loans under the ‘Apni Baat, Apna Ghar’ program will be given purely on merit, adding that the applications received on the “Apni Baat, Apna Ghar” portal will be verified by three independent micro agencies. Financial institutions are doing it.
In a statement issued on Sunday, he said that those availing a loan of Rs 1.5 million will have to repay the principal amount in installments of Rs 14,000 per month over just 9 years.
“I am very happy to see the houses built under this program, as if I am building my own house,” announced the Punjab Chief Minister, adding that Apna Chhat, Apna Ghar program is Pakistan’s most successful housing project. Action will emerge.
Chief Minister Punjab appreciated the outstanding success of his Chhat, Apna Ghar programme, under which more than 9000 people across Punjab have received interest-free loans worth Rs 8.5 billion.
He said that under the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ programme, more than 5,000 houses are nearing completion and construction of houses has started with the loans provided in the second phase.
According to the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the target is to build one lakh houses in one year and five lakh houses in five years.
Maryam Nawaz stressed the importance of achieving the objectives of the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” project.
The chief minister emphasized his vision for a Punjab where no one remains homeless, saying, “Everyone deserves the happiness of having their own roof. A state is like a mother, and mothers are like their homeless children.” I feel deeply for you.
“This initiative has achieved a unique record by disbursing microfinance loans worth Rs 8.5 billion in just a few months,” he noted.
The Chief Minister said that more than 400,000 applications and documents have been submitted through Apna Chhat, Apna Ghar portal in record time. In the first phase, 5,000 loans have been disbursed, with more than 5,000 houses nearing completion. Construction of 3,000 additional loan-financed houses has begun in Phase II.
For the convenience of applicants, a dedicated web portal (acag.punjab.gov.pk) and helpline (0800-09100) have been launched.
