Karachi: On Friday, a local court sent Kamran Asghar Qureshi, the father of the Prime Minister’s father, in the Mustafa Amir murder case, to police custody for two days.
It is being investigated in connection with the alleged illegal occupation of weapons and drugs.
Kamran Asghar Qureshi arrested Kamran Asghar Qureshi on Thursday. The arrest took place at the residence of his son Irmaghn, in which the Defense Housing Authority is located in the Khaban Momin area. Armaghan is already in police custody in connection with the murder of Mustafa Amir.
Kamran Qureshi was previously presented to the Judicial Magistrate (South) on Friday. During the hearing, the court inquired whether he was subjected to a forced or abusive abuse while in the custody of the police.
The accused denied any abuse. The court directed the authorities to examine and provide access to legal representation.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Shakeel Abbasi requested the court to provide the accused to the accused’s three -day physical remand. Prosecutors argued that the investigating team needed extra time to question Qureshi about 9mm pistol and alleged drug rehabilitation, especially crystal methymphitimine (commonly known as “ice”).
The prosecutor said that Qureshi was not cooperating with investigators and was allegedly involved in facilitating his son’s escape after the murder of Mustafa Amir.
According to the prosecution, after Mustafa’s death, Arghan informed his father about the incident. Prosecutors claim that Kamran Qureshi advised his son to leave Karachi and arranged to move the software company, which was associated with Armaghan.
Prosecutors further alleged that Qureshi had made threats against the investigators and used a social media platform to intimidate others.
The defense lawyer confronted the version of the prosecution, which said that Kamran Qureshi was arrested on March 18 outside his house without notice or legal grounds.
Defense argued that Qureshi was just trying to protect his son, who was already in police custody, and denied all allegations related to threats, weapons and drugs. The defense added that no private witness was prepared at the time of the arrest, and no case property was presented.
After hearing the two sides, the court approved a two -day physical remand, and directed the police to end their investigation within a specific period. The court also ordered that a copy of the FIR be provided to the accused and directed the authorities to ensure that the appropriate action was followed.
The arrest of Kamran Qureshi is after extending the physical remand of his son Irmagan by the Anti -Terrorism Court (ATC). Arghman is accused of abducting and killing Mustafa Amir, whose body was discovered on January 12 near the Hub check post. Initially, the EDHI Foundation was buried on January 16 as an unknown person. After the DNA’s confirmation, the body was removed and recovered by his family.
According to investigators, Armaghan Qureshi confessed to the murder and informed the authorities that his father was aware of the crime. Police reports show that Kamran instructed his son to go to hide after the incident.
Police recovered several items during their investigation. These include laptops and mobile phones seized from Armagan’s residence, which have been handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for forensic analysis. A black and silver iron folding rod, which investigators alleged that Irmagan had used Mustafa to attack, was recovered from the area near the center. Authorities believe the item will be presented as a physical evidence in court.
Police claim that the recovery is important in the matter and will be presented during the trial. The investigating officer (IO) said that Irmgan is now cooperating with law enforcement officials and has provided additional information about the case.
The case is jointly being investigated by the Karachi Police and the Federal Investigation Agency. Authorities are examining potential contacts with drug trafficking and other criminal activities in addition to the circumstances around the murder. Police believe more arrests can be made with the progress of the investigation.
Kamran Qureshi will be re -appearing in court after completion of his remand period. Investigators will present a latest report on their results at the next hearing.
