Nabeel Zafar Defends His Strict Stance Regarding Award Shows
Nabeel Zafar is an incredible Pakistani actor, host and producer. He rose to fame with his blockbuster drama serial Smudge. His other notable projects include Museum, Day, Qasa Saat Raat Ka, Swamp, Payal, Sheilakot, Ansu, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Des Pardis and Bubbles.
Recently, Nabeel Zafar appeared on Faisal Qureshi’s podcast Pressure Buhat Hai. In the podcast, he discussed his thoughts on award shows in detail.
Talking about this, Nabeel Zafar said that I have no problem with award shows. Awards are primarily appreciation, not something like property or material gain. Therefore, the praise given to the wrong person becomes painful to the rightful person. So the awards are good, but we’ve seen a lot of lobbying here. Actors who have received Pride of Performance Awards in Pakistan these days are justifying their awards. I think what’s the use of an award after you tell people why you got it? It is better not to receive such an award. There should be award functions but they should be given to real people.
“Awards are given by the public, like I recently met a kid with Down syndrome, and he was literally living in a bubble world. Such awards are precious to us,” he added. A gathering is organized in Pakistan and it is called an award show.
