The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) heard the request to increase the security deposit of the power distribution companies (Disco), in which eight disco presented its suggestions.

According to a disco representative, the main method of the security deposit policy of all eight companies is the same, however, Qesco, Tesco, and Fisco have adopted some different methods.

Fisco’s procedure is more realistic, he said. During the hearing, Rafiq Ahmed inquired about what the security deposit was and why it was collected from consumers.

In which Disco’s representative explained that Lightning Companies provide it to consumers and a security deposit is collected to protect them from potential defaults.

The disco representative added that when it comes to disconnecting a user, he has used electricity for about 70 70 days, and in the meantime the company suffers loss, which is why security deposit. Is kept as a safety measure.
