ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek -e -Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub has announced that the party visiting International Monetary Fund (IMF) team is concerned about election fraud, mandate theft, and other governance affecting the country. Will brief about the allegations.

Talking to the media, Ayub criticized the government and called it “illegal”, and claimed that it was formed by illegal and illegal means. He added that Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) is illegally beyond his constitutional term on Sikandar Sultan Raja.

The opposition leader expressed that key issues, including issues arising from the controversial passage of the 26th Constitutional Amendment, should be conveyed to the IMF delegation.

Earlier, PTI Senator Shobeli Faraz also demanded immediate transparent elections for the formation of a representative government. “We demand a system that reflects people’s will,” Faraz emphasized while talking to reporters.

The appointment of a new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and the filling of the vacant Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has led to a dispute. According to reliable sources regarding Ari News, consultation between the government and the opposition has begun.

Former CEC Alexander Sultan Raja and two members of the ECP expired on January 26, which vacated critical positions. The PTI announced that it would suggest its nominations for vacant CEC position during the consultation tomorrow.

Political harassment is continuing to create an atmosphere of uncertainty, opposition leaders have called for steps towards electoral reforms and neutral surveillance to ensure democratic stability in the country.
