Pakistan’s mobile phone imports fell by 13.6% in the first 4 months of FY25.
ISLAMABAD: The country imported mobile phones worth $420.799 million in the first four months (July-October) of the current financial year 2024-25, which is 10.46 percent higher than $469.969 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year. Negative growth was recorded. 2023-24.

Domestic manufacturing/assembling plants produced/assembled 22.59 million mobile handsets during the first nine months (January-September) of calendar year 2024 while 1.17 million were commercially imported.
Official data shows that 2.15 million mobile handsets were locally manufactured/assembled in September while 0.07 million mobile handsets were commercially imported.
22.59 million locally manufactured/assembled mobile phone handsets include 8.73 million 2G and 13.86 million smartphones.
Also, according to PTA data, 64 percent of mobile devices on Pakistan’s network are smartphones and 36 percent are 2G.
