Lahore: Making a mockery of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) slogan ‘Flying with great people’, the airline’s pilot landed the plane on the wrong runway at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Saturday. Showed negligence. Passengers’ lives are at risk.
The media reported that PK-150, which was en route from Dammam to Multan, failed to land at the airport due to fog and was diverted to Lahore Airport.
However, when it reached Lahore, instead of landing the plane on the main runway, the pilot landed it on Runway No. 36L, sources said, that too when all the lights on the runway were switched off.
Taking note of the unprofessionalism on the part of the pilot, the PIA management grounded the captain and the first officer and started an investigation into the incident.
