Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday demanded the nation to accept the spirit of Ramadan by expanding the support of the poor and promoting unity among Muslims.
According to reports, in his message at the beginning of Ramadan 1446 AH, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude for the blessings of the holy month.
Prime Minister Shahbaz stressed that it was a time of patience, thanksgiving, sympathy and sacrifice.
The Prime Minister urged the people to remember the backward people and help them according to their ability.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening the unity of the Muslim Ummah and promoting cooperation and brotherhood.
Similarly, President Asif Ali Zardari also congratulated the nation and the Muslim Ummah during the beginning of Ramadan.

He called on the people to move forward with their sources in supporting the backward people, emphasizing that charity and generosity play an important role in building a sympathetic society.
The President said, “This sacred month reminds us of the suffering of the poor and urges us to get beyond personal interests, expand the hand -helping hand and fulfill our duty for the less fortunate.”
Asif Ali Zardari prayed for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan and encouraged the nation to be a statue of patience and piety throughout Ramadan.
The two leaders urged the people to take the most of this blessed month by adopting the values of their love, brotherhood and generosity, ensuring that no one was left behind in the time of spiritual reflection.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif launched a Ramadan package of Rs 20 for 4 million deserving families across the country, which benefited about 20 million people.
Addressing the launching ceremony, the Prime Minister said that a total of 4 million deserving families consisting of about 20 million people will be relieved from the package that will be divided in the first ten days of the holy month.
He said that through digital wallets, each family will get Rs 5,000, expressing their satisfaction and said that during the holy month of Ramadan, prices have decreased this year compared to previous data.
