Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif while issuing strict instructions for special preparations for Hajj 2025 has emphasized that no negligence in the service of pilgrims will be tolerated.
The Prime Minister presided over the review meeting regarding the preparations for Hajj 2025. He reiterated that pilgrims are the guests of Allah and ensuring their comfort is the top priority of the government.
Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Chaudhry Salik Hussain and senior officials participated in the meeting. He was briefed about the progress of the Haj Fund, which is now in its final stages.
Officials told the Prime Minister that SIM cards will be provided to the pilgrims from Pakistan like last year and the Hajj mobile application will continue to work to assist them during their Hajj.
During the briefing, the Prime Minister directed that a comprehensive report on the preparations for Hajj should be submitted in the coming days. He also emphasized that high-ranking officers should be appointed for Hajj duty, to ensure transparency and efficiency in the process.
Shahbaz Sharif further directed the authorities to provide advanced training facilities for Haj 2025 pilgrims, ensuring that they are well prepared before their journey.
The Prime Minister emphasized that accommodation, transportation and other facilities for pilgrims should be carefully planned and implemented. He further said that the selection of assistants for pilgrims should be transparent and based on merit.
At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his determination to provide facilities to the pilgrims and said that the pilgrims are the guests of Allah and I will not tolerate any kind of negligence in their service and cooperation from the government.
Earlier, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah signed the Annual Hajj Agreement 2025 between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Monday.
Under the agreement, 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims will perform Hajj this year. The agreement also includes a commitment to provide the best possible facilities for Pakistani pilgrims, who will be offered special accommodation at reduced rates in Mina.
According to the statement released by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Saudi minister assured his Pakistani counterpart of all possible support for better facilities for the pilgrims.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain will also participate in the four-day International Hajj Conference and Expo organized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj in Jeddah, where additional agreements will be signed with institutions and companies responsible for providing facilities to Hajj pilgrims.
“To make the Hajj journey more accessible, convenient and comfortable, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has introduced a shortened Hajj program of 20 to 25 days like last year.”
