The Pakistan Stock Exchange PSX has maintained its upward momentum, hitting a record high for the second day of the year.
As the new year began, the stock market saw a significant rise. Yesterday, investor confidence helped the index cross the historical milestone of 117,000 points. The market continued its positive trend today.
The stock market opened on Thursday with a gain of 344 points, taking the index to 117,352 points.
Later, the KSE-100 index saw a sharp rise of 1,200 points, taking it to an all-time high of 118,300 points.
In 2024, the KSE-100 index saw a spectacular growth of 84%, with the index gaining 52,675 points last year, ending at 115,126 points by the end of the year.
The highest level of the index in 2024 was 117,039 points, while the lowest level was 59,191 points.
139 billion shares were created during the year with a total value of Rs 5,464 billion.
The market capitalization also increased by PKR 5,432 billion and PKR 14,490 billion by the end of 2024.
