Rawalpindi: Imran Khan, the founder of the imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-A-Ansif (PTI), sought a report from the party’s accountability committee on the alleged corruption and performance of ministers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) till Wednesday May.

According to party insiders, the founder of the PTI has requested a report on the performance and use of funds of the ministers, which has forced the accountability committee to start calling cabinet members.

Advocate Qazi Anwar, a member of the PTI Accountability Committee, said that a report on the performance of cabinet members will be submitted in the first week of May. All ministers, advisers and assistants will submit their reports to the committee, and provide details about the use of funds and relevant information.

Qazi Anwar added that the process will be completed in May, after which the report will be submitted to the PTI founder. The Minister of Food has already submitted a report to his performance to the committee.

Earlier, Imran Khan had directed the party members to play the role of the government to retire from their positions within the party.

The directive of PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja is aimed at giving the newly appointed president of PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter, Junaid Akbar, who is an independent hand in the party’s reorganization.

Talking to reporters after a visit to Khan in Adiala Jail on Tuesday, Raja assured that Khan was in good health despite fears over his welfare.

He also revealed that Khan had planned to write Chief Justice Yahya Afridi about the issues within the prison system, and noted that the jail administration was allegedly under the power of “invisible forces”.
