PTI’s dharna at D Chowk, Gandapur vows to continue protest

According to reports, the PTI convoy led by Gandapur reached China Chowk where the protesters removed barriers and clashed with security personnel. Tear gas shelling by law enforcement agencies continued as the protesters advanced, setting fire to trees along the Green Belt in retaliation.
Some workers who managed to reach D Chowk were pushed back by security forces. Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi were allegedly in their cars behind China Chowk.
Meanwhile, PTI chairman Barrister Gauhar while talking to a private news channel urged the party workers to remain peaceful and avoid vandalism. “Our founder led a peaceful political struggle for 27 years. I appeal to all activists arriving in Islamabad to remain calm and desist from sabotage,” Gauhar said.
The PTI chairman also demanded the government to show restraint. “Authorities must refrain from using violence against unarmed activists,” he stressed. He also said that he is hopeful for the early release of party founder Imran Khan.
