PTI’s Salman Akram Raja has claimed that 20 party workers were killed in the Islamabad operation.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja has claimed that 20 PTI supporters were killed during a state crackdown on PTI protests in Islamabad.
Salman said that full details of eight deaths are available, information about the rest will be released to the media. Raja claimed that the protesters were directly fired upon and shelled.
The PTI leader further alleged that hospitals in Islamabad have been instructed not to release records to the affected families.
The incident took place during a PTI protest at Islamabad’s D Chowk on Tuesday night. Officials launched an operation to clear the area which lasted for one to two hours. After that, the red zone was cleared of protesters.
The PTI leadership claims that there were several casualties during the operation, an allegation the government denies.
