Lahore: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the launch of the province’s first comprehensive ‘Talent Hunt Program’ to identify and raise young sports capabilities.

Presiding over a meeting here on Sunday, the CM directed the concerned departments to present a detailed implementation plan. “In Punjab, young players will be given plenty of opportunities to showcase their abilities and move forward,” he said.

The Chief Minister called for equal opportunities for women athletes, adding, “The women players will be given the same platforms for development and success.”

CM Maryam Nawaz directed the authorities to ensure financial independence of the sports department, and emphasized that there should be no hindrance to employees’ salaries. He also called for a detailed proposal for the launch of the Youth Internship Program aimed at empowering young people through practical training and experience.

CM’s message on International Day of Sports for Development and Peace

“The purpose of celebrating the International Day of Sports and Peace is to highlight the positive role of sports in society.”

“It is also celebrated to promote peace in the world,” he added. He highlighted, “Equal opportunities for sports are being provided to the youth, the elderly, the disabled and the people of other backward sections of society.”

The Chief Minister said, “Sports events pave the way for peace and development in the society.” He added, “Peace and sports are indispensable, if there is peace, there will be games.” He emphasized, “Games play an important role in giving birth to teamwork, competitiveness and tolerance among the youth.”

CM Mary said, “The Khalita Punjab program has been launched to promote sports in Punjab.” “Pink games in Punjab are a metaphor for peace and equal development,” he added. He noted, “The government is building the foundations and gymnasiums for promoting sports in the province.”

The CM of Punjab said, “steps are being taken to build 300 grounds and sports complexes in Punjab.” “The Sports Endowment Fund will be further increased, as all possible resources will be provided to promote sports in Punjab,” he added.
