Bollywood ace Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from a Mumbai hospital five days after he was stabbed at his home.

According to Indian media reports, actor Saif Ali Khan, who was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for the past five days, was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon after sustaining serious injuries in a knife attack at his home.

The actor left the hospital premises with his wife, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, and was later seen arriving at their Bandra home.

According to doctors, Khan is out of danger and is recovering.

Meanwhile, Khan’s residence has received new, tighter security measures, including the installation of CCTV cameras and an additional security gate next to the main entrance.

Notably, Khan, 54, was stabbed six times by an intruder in an attempted burglary at his Bandra home on Thursday. He was taken to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai and underwent multiple surgeries to remove the wounds around his neck and the 2.5-inch long knife from his spine.

On Sunday, the Mumbai Police arrested a Bangladeshi national, identified as Muhammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, 30, from the police station. The assailant had allegedly changed his name to Vijaydas and tried to mislead the investigation, claiming to be a resident of Kolkata, however, his lie was nailed with a school leaving certificate. According to the police, the accused entered the residential building with the intention of burglarizing the house of a rich man, but they had no knowledge of Khan or his celebrity.
