Pakistan’s Test vice-captain Saud Shakeel stressed the need for spin-friendly pitches like Multan to be introduced in domestic cricket to better prepare players for the challenging conditions.
While talking to the media in Multan, Shakeel highlighted the importance of a strong first innings performance in Test cricket.
“A big total in the first innings, even around 350, can set the tone for the rest of the match, especially on pitches that don’t favor the batting,” he explained.
Shakeel reiterated his commitment to play his part in the team’s success. “My focus has always been on delivering a performance that will lead the team to victory,” he said, dismissing the idea that the team would A change of affects the overall success.
Addressing the possible adjustments for the second Test against the West Indies starting on January 25, Shakeel said there will be no changes to the playing XI unless the situation changes.
