Islamabad: Security forces on Friday successfully neutralized five Khawarij terrorists, including their ringleader Abidullah alias Tarab, during an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Tirah district of Khyber.
The operation was conducted on the basis of confirmed reports of terrorist activities in the area.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops conducted an effective operation at Khawarij location, resulting in the killing of five terrorists. A Khawarij was also arrested during the operation.
Arms and ammunition were recovered from the scene, officials confirmed, adding that the terrorists were involved in several attacks on security forces as well as the killing of innocent civilians in the region.
A clearance operation is currently underway to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining terrorist elements in the area.
“Pakistan’s security forces are determined and determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR statement stressed.
This operation underscores the ongoing commitment of the security forces to secure peace and stability in the region by targeting and eliminating terrorist networks.
