Islamabad: On Thursday, Senator Shubli Faraz of Pakistan Tehreek-A-Nisf (PTI) said he had no information about the directive of the PTI founder to assign any work for negotiations with the establishment.
Speaking to reporters in the Islamabad High Court on Thursday, Faraz said, “I did not meet the PTI founder for six months. Despite the court orders, we are not allowed to meet him.”
“Unless I listen to it directly, I can’t comment on any speculation,” he added.
Earlier this week, his remarks have emerged in the Adiala Jail following a report between Imran Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Information Advisor Barrister Saif.
According to sources, the two assistants assured Khan that he was willing to hold talks with the establishment and was assigned to start back -channel contacts.
However, PTI Central Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram refused to issue any such instructions.
Son comments echo this stance. He emphasized the need to respect judicial decisions, saying that Adiala Jail Superintendent was allegedly ignoring the decisions of three different judges.
Meanwhile, responding to a question about PTI senior leader Hamad Azhar’s resignation from his party post, Faraz expressed regret, calling Azhar a “educated leader”, dismissing the internal groups within the party, saying it did not say it clearly.
“There is no disagreement with the personality or decisions of the founder,” he said.
“Each province has its own political context and facts,” he added, adding that internal affairs do not invite interference from other regions.
Earlier, Shubli Faraz had said that his party would continue its political struggle on judicial appointments and would indicate the formation of a new coalition among the opposition parties.
Talking to media outside the Peshawar High Court on Tuesday, Faraz said that no country can work without justice. “When there is no justice, the people lose confidence in the courts,” he said.
He criticized the current judicial appointment process, claiming that it was clear that the judges were being appointed on the basis of kindness.
He added, “The way the judges are being appointed clearly indicates that their loyalty is with those who come to power.”
He added that if the institutions responsible for the delivery of justice are weakened, the people feel insecure, and in such cases, national development and prosperity cannot be achieved.
Faraz also confirmed that the PTI would continue its political fight on the issue of judicial appointments, and that a coalition of the opposition would soon be formed. He concluded, “Without justice, no country can move forward.
