Khanpur: Six people lost their lives in a tragic accident between a passenger bus and a rickshaw on the National Highway in Khanpur on Thursday, and ten others were injured.
Rescue officials have reported that the accident happened due to high speed and dense fog, causing the bus to be removed from the road after colliding with a rickshaw. All six were rickshaw passengers, who traveled to work in nearby sugarcane fields.
The victims, identified as Wasim, Saleem, Hashim, Afzal, Naseer, and Allah Bakhsh, were residents of Ghazipur. Their bodies, along with the injured, were taken to a local hospital for further medical help.
In a separate incident, a driver was killed, and six passengers were injured when a speeding coaster controlled the Hazara motorway and hit the wall. The vehicle traveling from Gilgit to Rawalpindi was removed from the course due to high speed. The injured were shifted to King Abdullah Hospital in Mansehra for treatment.
Authorities have urged drivers to take caution, especially in fog situations, to prevent such fatal accidents.
