New Delhi: The four -day last phase of Parliament’s Budget session 2025 launched a great note today, with opposition MPs forced to postpone the Lok Sabha amid protests led by Samajwadi Party members.

MPs of the Samajwadi Party showed play cards and declared the bill as unfair and unconstitutional, and the operation was interrupted in the afternoon.

Since the members did not pay attention to the direction of Speaker Om Burla, whose direction did not chant slogans at home, the proceedings were postponed till 2 pm.

The clash in the Lok Sabha was linked to the speculation that the government could try to form a bill, which the opposition parties opposed.

After the postponement, Asaduddin Owaisi, the head of the Majlis-e-Hadul Muslim (AIMIM) of all India, criticized the Waqf (Amendment) bill and spoke to the media, “All these steps have a goal.”

He said, “Our demand is easy: What is right for Hindu religion and the board should not be wrong here.”

Talking about the bill, NCP MP Fauzia Khan told the media, “The government will present it, but we will oppose it. Our party will oppose it, and the entire Muslim community is opposing it…”

“Biju Janata Dal is very clear. We are opposed to this bill,” said BJD MP Sosmet Patra.

JP Government changed the name of 17 Muslim places in Uttarakhand

As part of its ongoing efforts to erase Muslim identity all over India, the BJP -led government has changed the name of 17 places, all of which were named in Uttarakhand state, with Muslim sanctions.

Among the changes in the name of the names are ten in Haridwar district, four in Dehradun, two in Nanette, and one in Adham Singh Nagar.

Aurangzebpur’s name in Haridwar has been named Shivaji Nagar, Ghaziwali, Arya Nagar, Khanpur to Shri Krishnapur, and Khanpur Karsali have been named after Ambedkar Nagar.

Similarly, in Dehradun, Miawala will now be called Ramajiwala, Chandpur Khordar, Perthveraj Nagar, Nawabi Road has been renamed in Nanital, and after another RSS Chief, Panchaki Marg has been renamed.

The ongoing rename has raised concerns between human rights organizations and opposition leaders, which describes that such a move only deepens the current error lines among communities, especially at a time when the country is facing a growing religious tension. Critics have warned that changing the name of places to erase Muslim heritage is part of a major strategy to rewrite history and create a more discriminatory political environment.
